Day in Hotel Green Plaza Hakone
This was my first time visiting Japan and have heard people recommend a ryokan+onsen experience, especially in Hakone. I'm so glad I did it here! I came with my mom and brother and we stayed in a Japanese style room and opted for the public onsen, which we used at night after dinner. There were probably only 5-6 women in there at the time, not crowded or busy. I wasn't expecting much, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were a pleasant experience, especially since we didn't feel like going out of our way to find a good food place in Hakone. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel as well and the people helping us at the front desk offer great service and spoke English well, which made our experience so easy. As a budget traveler, I was a little nervous to spend $350 for a night here, but it was worth the money and experience. (And of course, everything was clean, functional, etc. Just assume the bare minimums are easily covered).

Everything! The room wasn't the fanciest but I don't care as it was clean and comfort. Even though we didn't have the fuji view still the park view is quite stunning and from the garden you can see mount fuji very clearly if weather allows it. The onsen is exactly like in the pictures and it's clean and wonderful We knew there was dinner included but we didn't think such many options for dinner and breakfast They also offer a bus shuttle for free form the bus stop and to the ropeway if needed We only stayed for one night but we wish we stayed longer just to relax more. It's pricier than other hotels in hakone but between the included onsen, dinner and breakfast you definitely get your money worth!!!

The hotel offers a beautiful view of Mt Fuji on a clear day both from the garden area and the Onsen. The views and the Onsen are unparalleled. The hotel is in a remote area and hence there isn’t much noise. There are no convenience stores around, but the hotel has a small shop at the lobby area and a few vending machines on the Onsen floor. The staff helped us with the navigation and the bus timings. Go for the Onsen, location and helpful staff, but plan the trip to and from the hotel and the sightseeing in advance if you are relying on the public transport.

Ravi

The hotel offers a variety of food both for breakfast and for dinner with a large buffet selection. Location is 8 to 10mins walk from the nearest bus stop and the nearest ropeway station. We had a late arrival due to a disruption in the trains schedules and the hotel staff kept in contact with us, even enabling us to have dinner despite arriving at 2000hrs at the hotel, which after a day of travelling was very helpful. Views from our room were awesome even though Mt. Fuji decided not to expose itself to us.

The Mt Fuji views were amazing. We enjoyed the onsen experience each day. The ropeway was easy to get to and took us to the lake and into gora, so we could explore surrounding attractions. There was a beautiful Christmas performance with a pianist, violinist and viola player, as well as complimentary Christmas drinks at dinner. The buffet breakfast and dinner had a good variety of Japanese and Japanese style Western food - all very good quality and fresh. Staff were lovely.
